Geri was an only child, born on October 10th 1932 to Richard and Geraldine O’ Keefe she was the light of their life! Loving Godmother to Maura (Harty)Lo Cicero and Father Michael O’Keefe.Always proud of her Irish heritage. She attended Aquinas Catholic High School and then Mundelein College where she pursued acting and a career in teaching. Geri taught for 40 years both in Chicago and in Liverpool England where she proudly received an educational award from the Queen Mother. She acted in local theater and was an extra in Alfred Hitchcock’s film North by Northwest. She also spent 25 years as a sales associate at Neiman Marcus in Chicago where she was able to partake in her all-time favorite thing… shopping! She lived a full and vibrant life traveling the world, attending every relevant event & playing Bridge along with her second favorite thing, driving! Geri had more friends than she could count from every aspect of her life. Among them, students she taught over the years that she kept in touch with. Along with having cousins galore she became a one-of-a-kind grandmother figure to her many nieces and nephews. They all meant more to her than anything. If you we’re lucky to get a letter, card or note from Geri it was special because she meant each word. Everyone knew a day out with Aunt Geri was going to be a memorable one! So much appreciation to Unity, Grace and Renee for their kindness and care for Geri. Memorial Visitation Thursday April 13th from 4-8 P.M. at Lawn Funeral Home, 7732 W. 159th St. Orland Park, IL 60462.
