James E. ‘Jimmy’ Sheppard, age 61, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021, loving son of the late John V. and Mary Therese Sheppard; dearest brother of Michael (Sally), Patricia, Sharon (John) Herman, Donald (Joan), Daniel (Kristina), David (Terri) and John Jr. (Lori); cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Jimmy was surrounded by a large, loving family with many aunts, uncles and cousins, including his beloved Aunt Dolores. Everyone who met Jimmy was his best friend and he had many. Those who met him remembered and admired him for his strength and spirit. Jimmy was by far the biggest fan the Chicago Cubs ever had, always dressed from head to toe in Cubs apparel. He also loved to watch the Chicago Bulls and Bears games. For many years Jimmy participated in the Special Olympics and was so proud of the many medals he received. He loved playing basketball, bowling, board games, puzzles and Bingo. Jimmy will be deeply missed by his family and friends and forever be in our hearts. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations to New Star Services, Heartland Hospice or Special Olympics are appreciated.
