Obituary for Leonard R. Klee
Leonard R. Klee, 92, passed away peacefully with family at his side, Friday June 4, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Leonard married the love of his life, Dorothy H. Kapps on January 14, 1950; she preceded him on March 11, 2011. They were blessed with 4 children; Cindy (Mark) Stephenitch, Lynn (Bob) Elkins, Scott (Stacy) Klee, and Pat (Jennifer) Klee. Leonard was the loving grandfather of Craig, Dana (Jonathan) Barber, Katie (Adam) Gudgel, Rachel, Adam, Mitchel, Megan, Courtney & Caroline and cherished great grandfather of Jacob and Addie.
Leonard was a proud Marine Corp veteran and the owner/operator of L&K Tire (Worth, IL) for 28 years. His greatest pleasure was family gatherings especially if the gathering included a barbecue cookout. He was a man of quick wit and intelligence who will be missed by many. He left a legacy of hard work, compassion and a great love of family and friends, and a life well lived.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday June 29th at 9:30am for a celebration of his life and Mass at St. Anthony Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Manteno Veterans Home – member benefit program in memory of Leonard Klee. Donations are used to supply comfort items, activity programs and recreational programs to those veterans living at Manteno.
