We are sad to announce that Thomas Michael Doornbos of Manteno, IL passed away on December 10, 2022. Tom was born and raised in Chicago. He served in the United States Air Force and then went on to complete a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Due to health issues, he spent much of his life at home with his children, grandchildren, and his Bible. Tom was known for his sense of humor, intellect, and his Christian faith, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy, father Thomas, mother Irene, and brother Peter. He leaves behind his daughters Katherine and Mary (Christopher); grandchildren Matthew, MacKenzie, Aiden, Adam, and Cora; siblings Patricia, Joseph, Ella (Joseph), and Daniel (Evelyn); and many nieces and nephews. The family will have visitation on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 1-3pm at Lawn Funeral Home in Tinley Park. A 3pm memorial service will follow for those who would like to celebrate Tom’s life.
